Resource

Not every student learns the same way. Students learn at various rates and in varied ways. Some students may excel, others may struggle.  St. Peter offers services to meet the learning level needs of our students. We follow IEP's and 504 Plans, create learning or accommodation plans and also help students whenever they may struggle with any concept or earn 30% or lower in map testing for reading or math with parent permission.  We are thankful to have a full-time resource teacher available to assist our students whatever their need may be.

Mrs. Karen Young

My name is Karen Young and I feel truly blessed to be hired as the full time resource and enrichment teacher at St. Peter Lutheran School.  I have over 30 years of teaching experience for children ages 3-22 with a wide range of disabilities.  I live with my husband of 35 years and have 3 adult children, and 2 grandsons that all live out of state.  I've been an active member at Trinity Lutheran in Lisle for over 30 years.  I loved joining my expertise of teaching children with disabilities with my Lutheran faith and ministry! I'm also excited to have the privilege of teaching enrichment for grades 1-5! It is truly wonderful to work with the great students, parents and staff here at St. Peter. After retiring from special education teaching in the public schools,  I’m excited to start this new chapter of using my gifts of teaching and ministry as a teacher at St. Peter Lutheran School.
